In my years leading the Port Town Community Development Corporation, grant funding was our lifeline. Without it, we couldn't have served our community, grown our staff, or survived the 2008 economic downturn. I learned very quickly that winning a grant is only half the battle — keeping it, reporting on it correctly, and positioning yourself for renewal is where the real work begins.
